Where is the Official Michelle Wie Website

Thursday, November 17th, 2005

All the great golfers have their own websites.  And without fail they have their names in the domain name.

So what is the official website of Michelle Wie? That’s a good question.  If you enter www.michellewie.com into your browser, you come up with a website that is “under construction”.  I did a little research and found that the same person had registered all of the domains below.

www.michellewie.com

www.michellewie.net

www.michellewie.info

www.michellewie.biz

www.michellewie.tv

www.michellewie.org

www.michellewie.us

Remember the days of the cybersquatters from the late 90’s? These were people who would register a celebrity domain name and then basically extort them into paying them huge sums of money to get the domain back again.  The courts got wise however and started to crack down on these people and some even went to jail I believe.

So the question is: Are all the Michelle Wie domain names registered by a cybersquatter?  Probably not.  I would bet money her dad spent some of the $10 million she is reported to make and gobbled up all the Michelle Wie domains before anyone else could.  And that is a good move if he did.

So…at this point we will have to keep waiting for the official Michelle Wie website to emerge.
