Michelle Makes Cut at SK Telecom Open

After eight tries, Michelle Wie has finally made the cut at a men’s event.  She shot a 69 Friday which will allow her to play this weekend in the SK Telecom Open. Her score of five under par 139 for Thursday and Friday puts her only six strokes off the lead.  Michelle is now ranked the second best women player in the world and she could become the first woman to make the cut of a men’s event since 1945.  Granted, many of the men’s top-ranked players are not present, but these days any men’s event on the PGA Tour is chocked full of great players.

As could be expected, Michelle has caused quite a stir especially now that she will be playing the weekend with the men.  Wouldn’t it be funny if her first professional win came in a men’s event?
