Morgan Pressel Gets Into Kraft Tournament - Is Michelle Wie Next

Carolyn Bivens, commissioner of the LPGA has given full LPGA Tour membership to Morgan Pressel starting at the beginning of the golf year.  She will be playing in the Kraft Nabisco Golf Tournament, the 1st Major tournament on the 2006 LPGA schedule. You have to be a member of the LPGA to into the Kraft tournament (they don’t allow exemptions for non-LPGA members), and as of now Michelle Wie has not even applied.

You’ve got to wonder what will happen next.  To give Morgan Pressel a ticket into the tournament and not let Michelle Wie get a non-exempt status would be a little silly, considering how much more TV ratings will be (i.e. more money!) with Michelle playing against Morgan.

Will Kraft make an exception and let Michelle play under an exemption?  Will Carolyn Bivens beg Michelle to apply for early entry into the LPGA?

Not to do one or the other would be a dumb move financially.  Michelle has enough experience at the Kraft, finishing 4th in 2003.   Time will tell.  More updates on this in the near future!
